Mind-Body Healing and Your Abundant Health

What is Abundant Health?

Having abundant health means having health in great quantity or, being very healthy. Is that not what we all want for ourselves? I am sure there are those that don’t, and I believe it is caused by a craving for attention, and subconsciously believing illness and disease are the only way to get this attention.

The next few blogs will be dedicated to mind-body healing. There is just too much information and too many cases to fit on one!

I believe we all can positively affect our health if we can place our focus on our thoughts, feelings and attitudes. The mind-body connection is so much stronger than most will believe. Although I am not the picture of health YET, I do believe my thoughts, feelings and attitudes have affected my health, first negatively, and then positively. This is my story.

Psychosomatic Illness

While growing up, I had a great-aunt who was constantly getting ill, claiming health issues of one sort or another. The adults would always talk about how she would seem to contract almost anything a friend, or friend’s friend or just about anyone she heard/read about had contracted.

They would shake their head and talk about her psychosomatic illnesses. Today, through studies, many scientists and doctors are finding that a lot of illnesses and diseases are psychosomatic. A psychosomatic disorder is a disease which involves both mind and body (http://www.patient.co.uk/health/psychosomatic-disorders).

I was always told I was so much like my mother. I was thrilled with this as I adored her and hoped to be just like she was when I grew up.

And, as I grew up, I watched her suffer through one health crisis after another. She was mentally strong in ways; but in others, not so much. She carried so much inner turmoil and emotional burden on her shoulders, unable to detach her feeling and emotions from what an alcoholic husband, unloving and judgmental mother-in-law and inconsiderate, selfish children put on her.

As an Adult

From my mid 20’s, I didn’t take care of myself, ate all the wrong foods, drank too much, smoked like a chimney, and, until my mid 30’s took more than my fair share of recreational drugs. As I reached my 40’s, I was a very good candidate for an early death with illness and disease accompanying me all the way.

Late 40's

Late 40’s

I began to have one health issue after another into my mid 50’s. These health issues didn’t mimic those of my mother though. While her illnesses were internalized, my mind chose a whole new route. Instead of internal organs, most of mine were muscular-skeletal with a few odd glandular issues here and there. The list just kept growing and growing, and I was approved for disability as of May, 2010 at the ripe old age of 54.

The “AHA” Moment

With all of the self-help and spiritual books I’d read, I finally stumbled upon information regarding the mind-body connection. I was amazed, when I thought back on my mom’s life and health issues, how much her mental and emotional condition could have, and did, affect the health of her body.

I then took a long hard look at my own emotional and mental state, along with my physical health. I could see the correlation between the most stressful and painful times of my life and the onslaught of illness and disease. By then, I had been diagnosed with multiple illnesses, diseases and syndromes. I was taking 11-15 medications, depending on what was going on with my body.

So, through meditation, hypnosis and creative visualization, I eventually learned to pay better attention to my thoughts, feelings and emotions. I have been able to decrease my medications down to 2-3 and plan on being dependent on none by summer of 2015. I feel better than I have in years, have more energy and sleep through the night.

To many, this may not seem like much; but, it wasn’t long ago I didn’t believe I would make it to my 65th birthday.  Today, I’m looking forward to abundant health for the rest of my long life.  I believe my before and after pictures tell the story

The next 2 or 3 posts will be dedicated to sharing information of studies regarding mind-body interaction and stories of others who had drastic improvements in their health through changing the health of their thoughts and feelings. Some would call a couple of these miraculous.

Have you or anyone you know experienced amazing improvements in health without the use of surgery or medications? I would love to hear from you.

To Your Abundance,

Sabotage of the Subconscious Mind of an Abundant Woman

You try, you want, you desire, you meditate…..and yet it seems as if you’re stuck, going nowhere fast.  Could it be your subconscious mind is being sabotaged by thoughts and feelings of which you’re not even aware? The subconscious mind has accumulated years of habitual programming that goes on without you even consciously thinking about it.  Memories of negative experiences program you  to identify with negative “self beliefs” such as I’m inadequate, I’m worthless, I’m defective, I’m unattractive, I’m a loser, I’m a failure.  Those types of negative beliefs behave like “set points” that trigger automatic self destructive actions and thoughts that inevitably become self-fulfilling prophecies.  So, we’ve been told that if we practice positive affirmations,  we will attract positive results through the law of attraction.  Although, this is correct, if our affirmations are only rattling around in our conscious minds, what does that say of what is happening in the subconscious?  Your subconscious mind may be limiting and sabotaging you in ways that you do not even realize.

How Can You Overcome Sabotage of the Subconscious Mind?

Tension

Tension

Through practices such as meditation, yoga, or hypnosis, you will learn to develop mindfulness and an ability to live  your life consciously.  With these practices, you will  learn to observe events happening in your life consciously instead of them happening “to” you without your awareness.  You will begin to act consciously,  instead of reacting unconsciously. What you used to automatically respond to without thought, you’ll begin to notice as a negative or positive trigger of response.  Those negative triggers can then be dealt with, and old responses can be transformed into new thoughts and ideas. Those limiting beliefs can be transformed into new, positive ideals, which can then be incorporated into your meditations or self-hypnosis (which will be covered in another post).  The positive affirmations which were originally only found in the conscious mind can now be transformed into new and positive subconscious thoughts and feelings.

Remember to always keep your thoughts and feelings in your awareness and abolish anything negative that creeps in before it becomes something that encourages any sort if sabotage of your subconscious mind.

Creative Visualization for Abundance and Success

By Margot Huff – When it comes to abundance, creative visualization is so very important.  Without it, being able to attract abundance into your life is practically impossible.  Creative visualization can help you improve any area of your life with which you feel needs improvement.  You will have, do and be better at anything you visualize.  You’ll attract new, inspiring people and opportunities into your life. This really is a life changing practice….and it starts with your imagination

Creative visualization is using your imagination to visualize the life you want to create. There is nothing new or unusual about creative visualization. You already use it daily; in fact, every minute of every day. It is the power of imagination, the basic creative energy of the universe, which you use constantly, whether consciously or not.  In the past, we have all unconsciously used our power of creative visualization.  Because of the negative concepts about life which have been ingrained in us since childhood, we have automatically and unconsciously expected and imagined lack, limitation and difficulties to be a big part of life; and that is exactly what we have created for ourselves.girlmeditatingonthesunset_0

The Difference Between Daydreams and Creative Visualization

When you daydream, you are experiencing pleasant visionary distraction of the mind; a  mild, wishful creation of the imagination, a pleasant fantasy, and that is as far as it goes. Comparing a daydream to creative visualization is like comparing a fluffy little kitten to a fierce lioness. Creative visualization goes so much further.  With creative visualization, you need to completely immerse yourself into this projection from the imagination and infuse it with positive emotions.  As with meditation, you should find a quiet place away from all distractions.  Once you have the visualization in your mind, include as much sensual vibrancy as you can.  See the deep blue sky, hear the birds chirping, smell the orange blossom, feel the soft grass beneath your feet.  The most important of this visualization – infuse it with deep, positive emotions.

With  your imagination, you can “rewire” your subconscious to help you become happier, healthier, more creative,  abundant and confident;  or achieve almost any other goal  for which you aim.  Your subconscious mind is so powerful, it can help you live the life you’ve always wanted — a fulfilling life  with success, happiness, excitement and so much natural motivation that you jump out of bed every morning, thrilled to be alive, and revitalized by the inspiration of achieving your biggest dreams…  abundant dreams that you deserve.

How Creative Visualization Works

There have been over 200 studies showing that visualization improves everything from your memory to physical skills and productivity…and that’s just the start.  Because the use of you imagination “feels” real to your nervous system, creative visualization works quickly to impact you at the subconscious level.  What that means is that you can use it to intentionally and effectively improve any and all areas of your life.

Success and Abundance with Creative Visualization

Creative visualization can help you improve any area of your life.  It can help you attract the experiences and success you need to achieve abundance, even if you seem to attract lack and scarcity, or sabotage your efforts to improve your life.  It will help you attain enormous gains in abundance and success.  And it’s so much easier than you could ever imagine!

Have you used creative visualization in your life?  What positive and abundant successes have you had with it?  How do you feel it can be used to make your life more abundant? Leave a comment below and share your experiences.
