Sabotage of the Subconscious Mind of an Abundant Woman

You try, you want, you desire, you meditate…..and yet it seems as if you’re stuck, going nowhere fast.  Could it be your subconscious mind is being sabotaged by thoughts and feelings of which you’re not even aware? The subconscious mind has accumulated years of habitual programming that goes on without you even consciously thinking about it.  Memories of negative experiences program you  to identify with negative “self beliefs” such as I’m inadequate, I’m worthless, I’m defective, I’m unattractive, I’m a loser, I’m a failure.  Those types of negative beliefs behave like “set points” that trigger automatic self destructive actions and thoughts that inevitably become self-fulfilling prophecies.  So, we’ve been told that if we practice positive affirmations,  we will attract positive results through the law of attraction.  Although, this is correct, if our affirmations are only rattling around in our conscious minds, what does that say of what is happening in the subconscious?  Your subconscious mind may be limiting and sabotaging you in ways that you do not even realize.

How Can You Overcome Sabotage of the Subconscious Mind?

Tension

Tension

Through practices such as meditation, yoga, or hypnosis, you will learn to develop mindfulness and an ability to live  your life consciously.  With these practices, you will  learn to observe events happening in your life consciously instead of them happening “to” you without your awareness.  You will begin to act consciously,  instead of reacting unconsciously. What you used to automatically respond to without thought, you’ll begin to notice as a negative or positive trigger of response.  Those negative triggers can then be dealt with, and old responses can be transformed into new thoughts and ideas. Those limiting beliefs can be transformed into new, positive ideals, which can then be incorporated into your meditations or self-hypnosis (which will be covered in another post).  The positive affirmations which were originally only found in the conscious mind can now be transformed into new and positive subconscious thoughts and feelings.

Remember to always keep your thoughts and feelings in your awareness and abolish anything negative that creeps in before it becomes something that encourages any sort if sabotage of your subconscious mind.

I agree with this, but this goes for men as well. I feel negative most of the time. There are times I can’t sleep because of the negative thoughts going on in my head. When I express these thoughts to family and friends, I believe they think I am out of my mind.

Ah, Marty. First of all, thank you for taking the time to visit and leave your comment. That you feel family and friends think you are out of your mind is also a negative thought or belief in itself. Surrounding yourself with negative thoughts and feelings so much does have such an effect on how you view situations and people around you. I wonder if you truly pay attention to their responses while trying to suppress any negative expectations, you might just find that may not be the case at all. They may just be wondering if instead of you being out of your mind, that you may see more joy and happiness in your life if you become more attuned to so many of the positive aspects, such as those who care about you and want to see happiness in your life. I hope you will give this some consideration and return so we can talk further about how to alleviate so many negative thoughts and beliefs, and bring peace and joy into your life.

      Best wishes for your happiness,
      Margot

Great article about how people sabotage themselves by their thinking. I think we have an epidemic today since so many people have bought into the “Victim Mentality” that the media whores have been pushing. I say, stop bellyaching and start appreciating!

Skye, I can certainly appreciate that! There is a lot of bellyaching in the world, and the media does certainly contribute with all the negative stories on which they seem to dwell. I’ve stated often that 1 or 2 short articles of a positive aspect doesn’t make for good reading. Also, the love affair so many people have with keeping abreast of all stories in the media outlets just seems to add to the negativity being absorbed and then passed around. I recently came across a newspaper published by a small city that concentrated on positive stories. It was such a refreshing change from the negativity and hype reported everywhere else. I so believe the more positive and uplifting reporting the media shares, the more positive thoughts and beliefs will be found in the minds and hearts of the people of this world. Thank you for your input. I look forward to hearing more of your thoughts and ideas.

      Blessings to you,
      Margot

Very well written post. You seem to know what you are talking about and I can see your passion for psychology and the conscience, subconscious mind. It is true that nearly less than 5% of your actions are done consciously? The rest being carried out by the subconscious mind? I think I read it somewhere! Crazy!

Hi Elliott, thank you very much. What you say about less than 5% of your actions being conscious is right. It’s amazing just how unaware we are of the thoughts and feelings we have. I hope you’ll return as I plan on posting more shortly and appreciate your comments.

      Best wishes to you!

Hi! Love this post! It is so true that many people sabotage themselves by groveling in negativity and self-pity. Learning not to hang on to problems but instead searching for solutions and making problems into challenges has transformed everything for me and it is sooooooo liberating! Regards, Kristina

Hi Kristina. It is a sad thing that so many people dwell on the negative aspects in life without even realizing it, and then wonder why they attract even more negative people and situations. It’s so very important that we pay attention to our thoughts and feelings, and change the negative to positive every chance we get. Thanks for your input. I look forward to hearing more from you in the future. Margot

Hi Margot. Totally get this site even though I am a man…For some time now I have been reading about how to gain abundance through the power of thought and have been trying to live by the teachings of Napoleon Hill’s Think and Grow Rich and the sort. I also practice meditation daily and I’m a firm believer in trying to live you consciously. I look forward to seeing your site develop.

Phil, thanks so much! Although it is called An abundant woman, I will not be posting exclusively for women. My hope is that the posts I do leave are just as beneficial to men as they are women. I certainly don’t want to be leaving anyone out of my posts and discussions! I look forward to and honor your presence and input.
      Best of abundance to you!
