A Tribute to Dr. Wayne Dyer from an Abundant Woman

Dr. Wayne Dyer, born May 10, 1940, was a spiritual and self-help icon. He was the best-selling author of more than 30 self-help and spiritual books, Your Erroneous Zone, a highly motivational speaker and an inspiration for millions of people.

Dr. Dyer spent his childhood (until the age of 10) in an orphanage, then was taken into a foster home, where he was raised and loved. One day as a child, Wayne Dyer returned home from school, upset because he overheard his teacher calling him a “scurvy elephant.” When he shared this concern with his foster mother, she called the teacher who said, “Oh, that Wayne! He’s always getting things wrong. I didn’t call him a scurvy elephant. I said he was a disturbing element!

He went on to serve in the Navy for 4 years (1958-1962), then graduated from Wayne State University with a degree in counseling.

He began his career as a high school guidance counselor there and as a professor of counselor education at St. Johns University in New York City. His lectures focused on motivational speaking and positive thinking. The theories he discussed are what make up the content of his first book, Your Erroneous Zone, which was published in 1976. It is one of the best-selling books of all time, with approximately 35 million copies sold worldwide.

“Truly inspiring leaders get results by their own example: They encourage others to be responsible and do the right thing…they create space for others to be inspired and to achieve their own greatness.” – Dr. Wayne Dyer

It is at this time, Dr. Dyer quit teaching and began his career as a motivational speaker and writer. He also helped raise millions of dollars with lectures for PBS.

“There’s no scarcity of opportunity to make a living at what you love. There is only a scarcity of resolve to make it happen.” – Dr. Wayne Dyer

The context of Dr. Dyer’s books and lectures reflected the ideals of the New Thought movement, which promotes the belief that spirit is in and of all things, Infinite Intelligence (God) is everywhere, in everything and true human selfhood is divine; that divine thought is the power behind all that is good, and sickness originates in the mind where “wrong thinking” while “right thinking” promotes healing.

To his followers, Dr. Dyer promoted self-actualization, explaining reliance on the self is a guide to religious experience and advised people to emulate Jesus who he felt was a self-actualized person who relied on self-reliance. Self-actualization is the achievement of one’s full potential through creativity, independence, spontaneity, and a grasp of the real world.

“Self-actualized people are independent of the good opinion of others…Be a scurvy elephant.” – Dr. Wayne Dyer

During the 90’s, Dr. Dyer began turning the context of his books and lectures toward spirituality and received an even larger following.

Dr. Dyer passed away August 30, 2015 from a heart attack, at age 75. He had been diagnosed with leukemia in 2009, but always stated he could eliminate it from his body. The coroner confirmed that there was no trace of the leukemia.

He was a true inspiration and will be sorely missed.

Using Hypnosis for Abundant Health

Hypnosis is a state of consciousness involving focused attention and reduced external awareness having an enhanced capacity for response to suggestion, as explained in Wikipedia.

During hypnosis, a person is said to have heightened focus and concentration. The person can concentrate intensely on a specific thought or memory, while blocking out sources of distraction. Hypnotized subjects are said to show an increased response to suggestions.

A hypnotized person displays certain propensities, most notably heightened suggestibility and responsiveness. It is because of this this heightened state of mind that you can use hypnosis to make changes to your self beliefs, and patterns of thinking safely and naturally. After experiencing hypnosis, some people are able to induce hypnosis on themselves.
Psychologist, John Kilstrom (2001) states “The hypnotist does not hypnotize the individual. Rather the hypnotist serves as a sort of coach or tutor whose job is to help the person become hypnotized.”

Changes In Senses & Perception

Hypnosis works by relaxing you into a state where your brain shifts its activity. On a brain scan, a person in hypnosis shows the brainwave activity as experienced in the early years of our lives when our minds were able to sponge up information and immediately integrate it. This same accelerated learning occurs in hypnosis, bypassing the conscious mind so that unconscious beliefs and perceptions change.
Some of the most dramatic effects that can be seen with hypnosis are changes in sensation and perception. Some of the sensory changes include temporary blindness, deafness or loss of feeling in a part of the body. The changes in feeling can be very helpful for people who need anesthesia for surgical procedures or for chronic pain.

Studies on hypnosis have shown that a hypnotized person being told pain cannot be felt, will not consciously experience the pain of a pinprick or having the arm immersed in ice water.
When it comes to perceptions, a hypnotized person can be told a good friend is sitting across the room, and this person will not only see this friend but can give vivid detail of the friend and even touch this friend. The opposite can be experienced also. If told something with a foul odor does not smell, the hypnotized person will not consciously perceive any odor.

Limits of Hypnosis

Although effects of true hypnosis can be very dramatic, there are limits to the behaviors influenced by hypnosis.

1. You cannot be hypnotized against your will.
2. You will not behave in manners contrary to your moral and ethical values.
3. Hypnosis cannot make you stronger or give you new talents.

Healing the Body with Hypnosis

The body is designed to heal itself. Although this is an automatic process, hypnotic techniques can enhance and accelerate this process. By directing the subconscious mind to focus energy on a specific system in the body, more natural healing resources will go there. As an example, if you used hypnosis to help the healing of an injury or burn, you could accelerate the process so the healing happens in half the time it would take for the normal, unassisted healing to occur.

According to Dr. Steven Gurgevich, along with other doctors, the medical use of hypnosis can benefit asthma, back pain, brain injury, burns, cancer, childbirth, erectile function, eyesight, fertility, fibroid healing, headache, hypertension, immune system, irritable bowel syndrome, liver conditions, migraines, multiple sclerosis, neck conditions, pain, pregnancy, side effects of chemo or radiation treatment, skin conditions, spinal cord injuries, stimulating hair growth, strokes, surgery and recovery, tinnitus, and ulcers, just to list a few of the medical benefits.

There are also the benefits of changing behavioral patterns, which will promote a longer, healthy lifestyle – addictions, anxiety, depression, insomnia, smoking cessation, stress, weight loss.

Who Should You See?

You want to be sure to consult a licensed clinician. A couple of reputable groups are The American Society of Clinicao Hypnosis (www.asch.net) and The Society for Clinical and Experimental Hypnosis (www.sceh.us). The can supply you with information of health care professionals in your area. Although still in the beginning stages, some insurance companies are covering hypnosis to treat am assortment of disorders.

For those unable to visit a hypnotist, there are also reputable hypnotherapists who provide recordings that can be used to hypnotize and help with the healing process. The ones I have used and found very helpful are Dr. Steve G. Jones and Natural Hypnosis. Because of the healing benefits I have received with headaches, skin and pain from using recordings made by these two sites, I have become an affiliate.  I will make a commission if you should choose to purchase any products.  They do offer some free hypnosis sessions, should you wish to try them out first. They both have exceptional and reliable recorded sessions that can help with healing.

I would love to hear of your experiences with healing through hypnosis.

To your abundance!

Miracle or Mind-Body Healing of a Truly Abundant Woman?

Anita Moorjani

Anita Moorjani

I recently had the opportunity to read a book written by a truly abundant and inspirational woman. Her name is Anita Moorjani and the book is called “Dying To Be Me”. Click HERE to read my review of the book. Although I knew of mind-body healing and had even experienced it myself to a degree,  Anita’s story was one of absolute inspiration. I would like to share an abbreviated version of her life.

Anita’s Young Life

Anita was born to Indian parents in Singapore. Her paternal grandfather was a textile merchant, and her father traveled the world. When he was finally able to settle down, Anita was 2 years old, and he chose to move to Hong Kong. Because of the vast diversity of the population there, she learned to speak English, Sindhi and Cantonese.

hindu girl

hindu girl

Growing up in Hong Kong, Anita was immersed in 3 different cultures. Since Hong Kong was a British colony, she was exposed to the English way of life at the British Catholic schools she and her brother, Anoop, attended. At the same time, the majority of the population, along with the housekeeper, Ah Fong, was Cantonese and practiced Buddhism and Taoism. And, as I said she was born to Indian parents.

Since she spent much time with Ah Fong after school, shopping and visiting Ah Fongs parents and child, she was very familiar with their way of life and traditions. And, although Anita and her brother, Anoop, went to British Catholic schools in the majority Buddhist Hong Kong, the family practiced the traditional Hindu religion.

Needless to say, being taught by Catholic Nuns in religious studies and then practicing the Hindu traditions brought quite a bit of confusion and angst into Anita’s life. Catholic Nuns were telling her if she didn’t get baptized, she wouldn’t go to heaven. Her mother’s attempts to comfort her on the different ways religions followed different paths to heaven or enlightenment, only relieved the angst she felt for a short time.

Anita’s Teen and Young Adult Years

As Anita grew, continuing to practice the Hindu religion and traditions, she began to question her path. She had no desire to follow her parents’ guidance and agree to an arranged marriage. She wanted to continue her education and go on to college. Her father wanted her to get married and become the traditional, subservient wife of a man in a respectable Hindu family. She felt at odds and began thinking she was flawed in some way because she wouldn’t settle for what her parents wanted for her.

During this time in her life, she met the man she was to marry, Danny Moorjani. She had her misgivings when they first started dating as he was Sindhi. She was sure he was looking for the perfect, submissive woman to be his wife. As they grew closer, though, she found he also questioned and even rejected a lot of the Hindu traditions when it came to women and marriage, and embraced the modernized life in which his wife could pursue her dreams and be a contributing member of society with her work.

In January of 1995, Danny proposed to Anita. Two months later, Anita’s father passed away in his sleep and the family took him to his hometown in India for the funeral. Of course, she was devastated thinking how much she had disappointed him when he was alive.

On December 6, 1995, Anita and Danny were married in a traditional Indian ceremony with festivities that lasted almost a week. She was so happy, thinking they were going to live happily ever after…..

Not long after the wedding, Anita’s brother left for India to start a business there and took their mother with him. For the first time, Anita was living in a different country than the rest of her family, which devastated her. Also, during this time, those in her culture were constantly reminding her she should be having children as it was expected right after marriage. This, of course, she did not want, and again felt inadequate in the eyes of the people of her culture.

Fear and Confirmation of Disease

In 2001, her best friend, Soni, was diagnosed with cancer. A few months later, they found out Danny’s sister’s husband had an aggressive form of cancer. The news of these two having cancer instilled a deep fear in her as they were very close to her age. She soon began to fear being around anything that might cause cancer. As this fear progressed, she began to fear life itself.

lymphoma

lymphoma

In April, 2002, Anita found a lump in her right shoulder. She went in for tests and was told she had lymphoma, and terror took over from there. She refused chemotherapy because she saw how it ravaged her friends’ bodies.

Disease and Death of Loved Ones

It wasn’t long after that, Anita lost her best friend to cancer, and shortly later, her brother-in-law. She ran through the gamut of emotions, every day, day and night – anger, fear, dread, frustration, desperation.

Searching for a Healing Venue

She was seeing several specialists, along with Eastern healers. She was trying hypnotherapy, meditation, prayers, mantras and Chinese herbal remedies to no avail. She continued tp deteriorate. She traveled to India for Ayurvedic treatment, and, for awhile, felt much better. But as soon as she returned and listened to the skepticism of her friends regarding her treatments, the cancer came back with a vengeance.

She became stressed about food, one healing modality stated meat was bad, another stated meat was good, dairy was bad. Yet another stated vegetables were wrong. She worried about karma and what she must have done to deserve what was happening. She lived in a constant state of fear and continued to deteriorate in unbelievable pain.

Near Death Experience

NDE

NDE

On the morning of February 2, 2006, Anita was rushed to the hospital close to death and fell into a coma. Doctors and nurses were rushing around trying to keep her from dying. The Oncologist had already told Danny though, that although her heart may be beating, she was gone.

It was at this time, Anita realized she was fully conscious and aware of what was going on around her, and even down the hall where one of the doctors was talking to Danny. All the pain she had endured was gone. She realized she was witnessing this from outside her physical body.

Her near death experience is more than I can describe here, unless I want to write a book myself. When she returned from this and woke from her coma, her cancer went into remission and soon disappeared. She has now written a book of her experience and is speaking at conferences, lectures and meetings about her experience.

Dying To Be Me

Dying To Be Me

Anita Moorjani’s experience is a fantastic example of mind-body, maybe soul-body healing. After reading of her experience, I have no doubt we can all experience healing of illness and disease when we have a positive mind and heart and lose fear. Her book goes into so much better detail than I can give here in this short post.  You will find my book review posted under Book and Movie Reviews.

Mind-Body Healing and Your Abundant Health

What is Abundant Health?

Having abundant health means having health in great quantity or, being very healthy. Is that not what we all want for ourselves? I am sure there are those that don’t, and I believe it is caused by a craving for attention, and subconsciously believing illness and disease are the only way to get this attention.

The next few blogs will be dedicated to mind-body healing. There is just too much information and too many cases to fit on one!

I believe we all can positively affect our health if we can place our focus on our thoughts, feelings and attitudes. The mind-body connection is so much stronger than most will believe. Although I am not the picture of health YET, I do believe my thoughts, feelings and attitudes have affected my health, first negatively, and then positively. This is my story.

Psychosomatic Illness

While growing up, I had a great-aunt who was constantly getting ill, claiming health issues of one sort or another. The adults would always talk about how she would seem to contract almost anything a friend, or friend’s friend or just about anyone she heard/read about had contracted.

They would shake their head and talk about her psychosomatic illnesses. Today, through studies, many scientists and doctors are finding that a lot of illnesses and diseases are psychosomatic. A psychosomatic disorder is a disease which involves both mind and body (http://www.patient.co.uk/health/psychosomatic-disorders).

I was always told I was so much like my mother. I was thrilled with this as I adored her and hoped to be just like she was when I grew up.

And, as I grew up, I watched her suffer through one health crisis after another. She was mentally strong in ways; but in others, not so much. She carried so much inner turmoil and emotional burden on her shoulders, unable to detach her feeling and emotions from what an alcoholic husband, unloving and judgmental mother-in-law and inconsiderate, selfish children put on her.

As an Adult

From my mid 20’s, I didn’t take care of myself, ate all the wrong foods, drank too much, smoked like a chimney, and, until my mid 30’s took more than my fair share of recreational drugs. As I reached my 40’s, I was a very good candidate for an early death with illness and disease accompanying me all the way.

Late 40's

Late 40’s

I began to have one health issue after another into my mid 50’s. These health issues didn’t mimic those of my mother though. While her illnesses were internalized, my mind chose a whole new route. Instead of internal organs, most of mine were muscular-skeletal with a few odd glandular issues here and there. The list just kept growing and growing, and I was approved for disability as of May, 2010 at the ripe old age of 54.

The “AHA” Moment

With all of the self-help and spiritual books I’d read, I finally stumbled upon information regarding the mind-body connection. I was amazed, when I thought back on my mom’s life and health issues, how much her mental and emotional condition could have, and did, affect the health of her body.

I then took a long hard look at my own emotional and mental state, along with my physical health. I could see the correlation between the most stressful and painful times of my life and the onslaught of illness and disease. By then, I had been diagnosed with multiple illnesses, diseases and syndromes. I was taking 11-15 medications, depending on what was going on with my body.

Today

Today

So, through meditation, hypnosis and creative visualization, I eventually learned to pay better attention to my thoughts, feelings and emotions. I have been able to decrease my medications down to 2-3 and plan on being dependent on none by summer of 2015. I feel better than I have in years, have more energy and sleep through the night.

To many, this may not seem like much; but, it wasn’t long ago I didn’t believe I would make it to my 65th birthday.  Today, I’m looking forward to abundant health for the rest of my long life.  I believe my before and after pictures tell the story

Please Read On…

The next 2 or 3 posts will be dedicated to sharing information of studies regarding mind-body interaction and stories of others who had drastic improvements in their health through changing the health of their thoughts and feelings. Some would call a couple of these miraculous.

Have you or anyone you know experienced amazing improvements in health without the use of surgery or medications? I would love to hear from you.

Protection From Negativity For An Intuitive Abundant Woman

Many experts claim that intuitive people are also psychic, to a degree – using that 6th sense to know things or make decisions. As such, many intuitive people can also be susceptible to energies from other sources, such as other people.

A NEGATIVE ENERGY ENDURED

I have had an issue for years when it came to being affected by and absorbing the energies of other people. In fact, the worst case for me was a very close relative. It took me years to understand why, after spending time in his presence, I would become upset, confused, frustrated and even negative myself. It would take a very long time for me to return to my normal, more positive self.

Negative Energy

Negative Energy

After our last confrontation, in which he treated me worse than his poor dog he kept chained to a tree and would not explain his reason, I realized I needed to stay away from him, but didn’t really understand why. I just knew I felt better when I wasn’t around him. It took me quite awhile to also realize I needed to forgive him for his extremely negative actions, as my anger and frustration were eating away at my soul. I was losing any spiritual abundance I had. It was affecting my meditations, peaceful mind and heart, and even other relationships.

REALIZING THE PROBLEM & FINDING SOLUTIONS

It wasn’t until just a few months back, after doing research on intuitives, psychics, empaths and sensitives, that I was able to realize what the real issue was that was happening. I was absorbing his negative energy and it was severely affecting me. Then my real research began on how to protect myself from these energies, because they could also affect me from a distance.

Do you:

  • sometimes walk into a room and feel a bad “vibe” or feel exhausted in a crowd?
  • feel easily hurt at times?
  • get told by people that you’re too sensitive?
  • avoid conscious recognition of the emotional basis of an act or feeling by substituting a superficially plausible explanation?
  • sense negative emotions evoked by other people and sometimes don’t know if it’s coming from them or you?
  • get nervous and agitated around hyperactive people?
  • need to be alone to re-energize?
  • feel, at times, as if you’ve lost your own identity or are suffocating in an intimate relationship?
  • listen well to others and give generously of yourself?

If so, in all likelihood, you are an intuitive, empath, sensitive or psychic, and need to know how to protect yourself in order to continue your positive journey toward a life as an abundant woman.

TIPS AND SUGGESTIONS

Here are a few tips, which I have found helpful, on how to protect yourself from negativity.

Keep at least 20 to 30 feet away from any negative person, called an “emotional vampire” by Dr. Judith Orloff. (Judith Orloff, MD, Are you an empath?, http://www.huffingtonpost.com/judith-orloff-md/are-you-an-emotional-empa_b_697483.html). Don’t be concerned if you feel you may be offending someone. This is for your emotional and psychic protection. Dr. Judith Orloff has some amazing programs, books and online courses on intuition, positive energy and empowerment!Positive Energy & Emotional Freedom

Clean negativity from you. Brush your head, arms and body with your hands as if wiping off dirt or dust. Put your hands on your solar plexus (your emotional center). Imagine a clean white light emanating from your hands into your solar plexus to clean out any negativity that may have found its way in.

Envelope yourself in a protective shield when around suspect people. Visualize your body being enveloped in a white light that blocks the negativity but allows positive energy to be absorbed.

Center yourself with deep breaths. As you breathe in, feel positive, calming energy entering into your lungs. As you breathe out, see the negative energy leaving your body as a dark mist or fog.

Manage your emotions. Have a safe, private and natural space in your home where you can go for meditation and centering to rejuvenate, especially if there are family members in the home whose emotions you have been absorbing.

Spend time with positive people. Encourage and cultivate friendships with people who have positive energies. Spending time with these people can help you strengthen your own positive energies, which will help negate any negative energies you find yourself absorbing.

These exercises are not something that will alleviate your issues with negative energy right away. They must be practiced on a regular basis for you to strengthen your own energies and protection.

So, as they say, practice makes perfect. Be sure to check out Dr. Judith Orloff’s programs, books and online courses. They are fascinating, uplifting and so very helpful! I wish you the best in your endeavors and would love to hear from you with any other tips or helpful practices you use to keep your energies positive and your soul happy!

How to Access Your Intuition as An Abundant Woman

In my previous post, I talked about intuition, what it is and the importance of paying attention to it. Today, I’d like to delve further into its application, importance and how to readily access your intuition.

Ignoring Your Intuition

As we were all raised to use our logical mind to make decision in all facets of our lives, we began to ignore our intuition just as we began reaching the times in our lives when we needed it the most – making life decisions.

Your intuition is working more often than you realize. Having ignored our natural intuition for so long, many of us now find it difficult to access or even recognize or be aware of it.

Awareness

Awareness

We all were born with some amount of intuition. Abundant intuition is either innate or can be developed. For those of us needing assistance accessing our intuition, with it having been buried under logic, preconceptions and conscious beliefs for so long, we can learn again how to recognize and use it.

The Subconscious

The subconscious handles three main aspects of your life:

1. It controls all automatic bodily functions – heart, breathing, digestion and so many more than I am able to list. You get the idea, I’m sure.

2. All thoughts and beliefs accepted by the subconscious issue a vibration which attracts people and situations that vibrate at the same frequency.

3. Being a part of life and all reality, it has access to information not readily available to your conscious mind, and this is where intuition comes in.

Intuition, being a function of the subconscious mind, works for everyone, and is accessible by everyone.

Heart intuition

Heart intuition

Three Ways to Access Your Intuition

Some of the ways to access your intuition are:

Meditation:

Engaging in contemplation, thought, musing, reflection, focus and concentration on a repetitive act such as breathing or using a mantra (a word or sound repeated). By using the typical meditation and going within, you can soon find this inner self – the subconscious that, if listened to, will bring you to the awareness you are not limited to the aspects of your conscious mind, and the eternal senses, and can access all the information within your subconscious.

Card Exercise:

1. Pull the jokers out of a deck of cards and shuffle
2. Flip through them very quickly, looking at the faces
3. Lay them out, face down, in rows of 13
4. Think of one of the cards, your subconscious should know its location
5. After thinking of the card for a few seconds, clear your mind
6. Turn over a card which you feel drawn to
7. If it is the card you were thinking of, your intuition is strong. If it isn’t, don’t worry. Put it back and try for another card.
8. Record your results.

How many attempts did it take to find the card? Do this exercise 5-10 minutes/day. You will soon see your ability to pick the correct card happen faster, and as with anything, practice makes perfect…or as close as possible.

The Silva Intuition System 3-2-1 Intuitive Meditation:

1. After getting comfortable and closing eyes, take a deep breath and as you exhale, think and envision the number 3, a few times. As you do this, relax each part of your head, scalp, forehead, face (a light smile always relaxes your face), jaw and chin, your throat (internally and externally), relax your chest (internally and externally), shoulders, arms, hands and fingers. Relax your abdomen (internally and externally). Relax your hips, thighs, knees, calves, feet and toes. You should be at a deeper level of relaxation at this point.

2. The next level, level 2 is for mental relaxation – take a deep breath and as you exhale, think and envision the number 2, a few times. This level is a mental relaxation level where noises do not distract you. Instead, noises help you to relax deeply more and morel To improve relaxation at level 2, practice visualizing tranquil and passive scenes.

3. The last level, level 1 – take another deep breath and as you exhale, think and envision the number 1, 3 times. Level 1 is a plane level to be used for any purpose you desire. This is your starting point.

4. From here, count slowly from 10 to 1 and as you descend, feel yourself entering a deeper, healthier level of mind.

5. Imagine descending as if in an elevator from the 10th to the 1st floor. Allow the feeling of relaxation from the top of your body down to your toes.

The purpose of this exercise is to enhance your intuition. You can find the rest if this excellent meditation method at The Silva Intuition System.

Best wishes for your most relaxing intuition meditation. After practicing this meditation, I hope you will get back with me and let me know how much it helped you achieve a better state of intuition.

Using Intuition On Your Journey Toward An Abundant Life

Intuition, the ability to acquire knowledge without the use of reason, comes from the Latin verb intueri, which means to look inside or to contemplate. Intuition is believed to be a kind of inner perception, sometimes regarded as true understanding. It provides views, judgments or beliefs that we cannot verify in every case based on observation or experience, or rationally justify.

What Your Spirit Knows

Your spirit knows what’s right for you, what directions you need to take for your highest good. Although your intellectual mind is a great tool, when it comes to the key decisions of your life, it pales in comparison to the wisdom of your intuition.

Einstein intuition

Einstein intuition

Your intuition is constantly feeding you information about people or situations, or providing answers to the questions you are asking. Have you ever had a “gut” feeling and not listened, and later wished that you had? Intuitive information comes to us generally as a feeling rather than logical thought when the chatter in our minds has quieted. All you need to do is tap into it. It isn’t as difficult as you may think, whether you believe yourself to be intuitive or not.

Learn To Tap Into Your Powerful Intuition

Imagine being so powerfully intuitive that you’ll never second-guess yourself ever again. Imagine how that affects your career – when you’re always making the right business decisions, and choosing the most trustworthy partners. Imagine being able to tune in to exactly what your partner is feeling, and how that brings the two of you even closer. Imagine being able to rely on a strong “inner voice” that gives you confident ideas and answers to help you overcome any challenge.

All of this isn’t just reserved for the lucky few who were blessed with good fortune.  The Silva Intuition System helps to discover the power of intuition and unleash an entirely new realm of possibilities for career, relationships and health.

Over 6 million graduates, including scientists, doctors, artists and entrepreneurs have used The Silva Method to experience the full extent of their intuitive senses and live a life beyond ordinary.

An Abundant Woman’s Tale – You CAN Create Abundance!

This is a true story of one woman’s experience, I’ll call her Milly, on attracting and manifesting abundance into her family’s life. I still get a huge smile on my face when I think of how it all came about.

Milly has been involved in spirituality and the Law of Attraction since quite awhile before the hit movie “The Secret” was released. She just didn’t understand how it all fit together, or whether it even did fit.

The Secret

The Secret

It was after she watched the movie, along with quite a few videos recorded shortly after the movie, and read a few books, both new and old, on the subject; that she finally felt she had a grasp on how the Law of Attraction worked. She began to notice incidences and coincidences around her that were obvious examples of the Law of Attraction at work.

Although she knew it worked, she couldn’t seem to figure out what she was or wasn’t doing that kept her wishes and intentions from manifesting. She made a vision board as advised in the movie, along with writing her wishes and intentions, visualizing them and then letting them go so as not to become attached to them.  She worked hard to overcome limiting beliefs, became and stayed grateful for what she had, opened herself to receiving graciously…and still nothing.

Learn More and Apply

She took classes and courses, read books and watched videos on the Law of Attraction, hypnotism, meditation, visualization, the power of prayer and life coaching. As time went on, the literature, videos and training on these aspects became more refined and specialized.

Milly finally began to manifest small things into her life….a parking space close to the door of the store, a specific hotel room when going on vacation, a sale on a specific item for which she wouldn’t pay full retail. She came across a book last November, “E-Squared: Nine Do-It-Yourself Energy Experiments That Prove Your Thoughts Create Your Reality” by Pam Grout. She didn’t start reading it until 3 0r 4 months after the holidays.

The book consisted of 9 different experiments to try for noticing, attracting and manifesting people, items, events and money. They started out small and became larger and more complex as the experiments progressed. She went through some the experiments, and actually had success with each experiment performed. After about 4, she decided she was going to try to manifest some money herself.

Writing Your Intention

She sat down and wrote out what she wanted to attract     and manifest, “I am so happy and grateful that we have an additional $x,000 income this year.” As she had been working on a website, wanting to earn some extra money for her family by helping others, which was her passion; she hoped that she would be earning that amount of money by the end of 12 months.

Write intention

Write intention

After writing down her affirmation, she let it go, keeping no attachment to it, as she had learned when taking the courses on the Law of Attraction. And so, a few months passed with nothing really happening on her website. She continued working on it, taking more courses and began building her clientele, with more money going out than coming in at that point.

While all this was going on with her courses and website, things were happening at her husband’s company. I’ll call him Bob. The management had decided to create a new position and asked Bob if he would be interested in a promotion into this position. Although he was the person who told them they really needed to create this position, he had also initially told them he wasn’t interested, thinking he would be getting more headaches than he already had.

From Whence it Comes

Well, the company created the position and asked Bob to apply for it; which, after some deep thought and soul searching, he did. When they offered him the job, they told him he would be getting a raise of $x,000, which was the exact amount she had written in her manifestation intention.

Money

Money

What I find funny is it took a month before Milly realized Bob’s raise was the same amount she had written. On the day she finally realized what had happened, she was watching a short video on the Law of Attraction and manifesting. She was almost finished with the video when she finally realized the manifestation intention she had written a few months before had happened!

In case you haven’t figured it out yet, you might find it funny to know that my husband and I are Bob and Milly. And that is how I KNOW beyond a shadow of a doubt that you CAN attract and create abundance!

Attaining an Attitude of Abundance and Affluence

A Word On The Woowoo

What I’m about to discuss now may seem a bit metaphysical, and I suppose it is to anyone not acquainted with these practices. I only ask that you keep an open mind as we go through these.

I’m going to list three different practices you can use to attract affluence and abundance into your life. These don’t follow the norm of what you may have heard when it comes to the Law of Attraction. They were shared by Bert Goldman, the American Monk, who also introduced Quantum Jumping, which I’ll explain in another post.

1. – Awareness of Your Actions

Awareness

Awareness

In the evening, just prior to going to bed, go over the events of the day. Ask yourself what you did that day that you would rather have done differently. What did you do that day that was wrong?  What did you do that you could have done better?

Going over these events, you may find that there were quite a few things that you could have done better, differently; possibly as many as ten to twenty or more. By doing this, you become more aware of yourself, of the things that other people see in you that perhaps you don’t see when you look in the mirror. Do this for a week or two.

Self Sabotage & Limiting Factors

What does this have to do with attaining an attitude of abundance? It all has to do with self sabotage, which I’ve spoken of in a previous post. When you do something that is wrong, or not to the best of your ability, there is a little measure of guilt that comes in.

You may feel you want to repeat the act correctly, or as it should have been done; but, if you don’t admit you’ve done anything wrong, then there’s nothing to repeat. In other words, it festers in your inner conscience. It chews away and causes a great deal of limiting factors in your life.

When you feel you’re limited in some aspect of your life, then you feel you only deserve so much. For example if you feel limited in relationships, then you feel you only deserve so many friends and these friendships will only be so fulfilling.

If you feel limited in wealth, then you only feel you deserve to be in a certain income bracket. If you make more than what you feel you deserve, it somehow gets lost or squandered until you’re back in the area of income in which you are comfortable or feel you deserve to be.

Keep Up the Practice

Limitations cause people so many problems in the areas of health, wealth, relationships and a myriad of other aspects of life. After you have been using this self awareness practice awhile, you’ll get to a point where it will be a few days when there isn’t anything you would have done differently or better. When you get to this point, then you’re ready for the next step to attaining an attitude of abundance.

2. – Activating Your Internal Electromagnet

This is a simple process. You tense your shoulders, neck and head slightly; then, just close your eyes.  Keep everything from the shoulders up slightly tensed, almost to the point you can feel yourself quivering.  As I said, it’s a simple process.

Attracting Abundance With Electromagnetism

Once you’ve activated your electromagnet, you are able to begin attracting the abundance you want into your life. With your eyes still closed and your electromagnet still activated, visualize what it is you are wanting to attract for a few minutes; then, just let it loose. Do this a few times a day.

3. – The Rhythm of Abundance

Rhythm

Rhythm

Every aspect of life has its own flow or rhythm, and abundance is no different. Here is an example of what I mean. There’s the story you hear about wealth or poverty consciousness. You give a million dollars to a person with a poverty consciousness; and, within a year, that person will not have any of the money left.

Adversely, If you take a million dollars away from a person with a wealth consciousness, that person will have gotten that money back within a year or so.  A person with a wealth or poverty consciousness has a certain energy or rhythm to their consciousness.

Learning Your Rhythms

One way of finding your rhythms is with the thought of food. First, think of a food you really enjoy. Begin tapping a rhythm with your hand, whatever feels right, on your chest, your thigh, the table. Become aware of this rhythm. Next, think of a food that you really do not like at all. Tap a rhythm while thinking of that food. You’ll probably find that the rhythm is slower when tapping on what you dislike.

Another way, and one that you will probably appreciate more for the use you want, is to tap your rhythm while remembering a time when you had a lot of money, even if it was just for a day or so, or when you really felt affluent. Also, learn your rhythm for when you didn’t have any money or abundance of what it is you are wanting.

Once you have these rhythms established, make a practice each morning of tapping your rhythm for abundance for about 30 to 60 seconds. You can do this more than once a day; but, you should refrain doing so before bedtime since your sleeping state is yet another rhythm.

A Message For the Skeptic

Even if you are skeptical, give these practices a try. Do them for a few weeks and see what happens. You may be pleasantly surprised. When you stop and think about it, what do you have to lose? After a few weeks, ask yourself….does it work? If it does, then you’ve found new ways to attract affluence and abundance!

Journaling to Overcome Self Limiting Beliefs

Identifying Self Limiting Beliefs

In my previous post “Sabotage of the Subconscious Mind of an Abundant Woman”, I discussed some of the self limiting beliefs we have all accumulated throughout our lives… I’m inadequate, I’m worthless, I’m defective, I’m unattractive, I’m a loser, I’m a failure.  And those are but a few that we have become buried in our psyches.  The trick is to really pay attention to your thoughts and feelings throughout your day.

Limiting beliefs are very powerful. You’ve had them, thought them, felt them for years.  From the time you first experience life, you are inundated with the self limiting beliefs of your parents, grandparents, extended family and friends, your culture and religion.  The more you think of them, the more  energy you give them. The more energy you give them, the more they hold you back from having the abundant, joyful life you deserve.

Your beliefs become your reality.  You will always find evidence to support your beliefs, and to have them become your reality.Your feelings are the perfect tool for identifying these self limiting beliefs you may not even realize you have.  You need to be sure to check in with yourself, ask yourself what you are feeling and why.  Don’t fight the feelings, but observe them.  Any negative feelings you are having lead back to self limiting beliefs.

Understanding Limiting Beliefs

Following is a short list of what self limiting beliefs consist of.  What others can you think of

  • Excuses
  • Justifications
  • Worries
  • Beliefs conditioned from religion, culture or family
  • Negative thought patterns
  • Perfectionist thinking
  • Past failures
  • Fears

Journaling Can Help

Journaling

Journaling

Journaling is a very good habit to start.  It’s a great way to get inside your own head, to write down the thoughts and feelings you have.  Start with a goal, a dream or desire.  Write down everything that comes to you,  whether positive or negative.

Be brutally honest with yourself.  Once you have written until you can write no more, go back and find the negative thoughts and feelings.  Pay attention to any patterns you may see.

Overcoming Self Limiting Beliefs

  • Don’t allow yourself to be defined by these beliefs
  • Choose to stop agreeing with the limiting beliefs
  • Question all of the conclusions you have about what you think to be true
  • Take some kind of action to test your assumptions
  • Spend time integrating a new, empowering belief

Sometimes, it can be just that simple.  The biggest hurdle of all will be remembering what you’ve been allowing yourself to believe all these years, and maintaining the new beliefs you wish to put into place.  When you finally realize you have ingrained these positive and empowering beliefs into your daily life, you will begin noticing all the abundant aspects that have been there all along, waiting for you to acknowledge. How many self limiting beliefs have you been holding onto all these years?
