Hi! I'm Margot!

Three Possible Ways To Change Beliefs As An Abundant Woman

The brain, in which the conscious mind is included, is that three-pound organ in your head. The complete mind, which also includes your subconscious and unconscious, is much larger and more elusive. There is a vast difference between brain and mind and there are books that go into intricate detail on what these differences entail.

Until you find some way to alter the deep seated and self-limiting beliefs, most of which you’re not even aware, all of the personal development programs you try will fail, as they are based on dealing on the conscious and subconscious levels. The negative beliefs in your unconscious mind sets limits for you. When you rid yourself of these limits, you can do things you thought impossible.

What Are Your Self-Limiting Beliefs?

In order to change these self-limiting beliefs, you must first become aware of them. They are constantly affecting your life as you go through your days.

Limiting beliefs

Limiting beliefs

As I’ve stated before, change does not occur on the conscious, superficial levels, through simple positive thinking. It involves searching, discovering, and changing our deepest thoughts and feelings toward life.

It takes practice and determination, but you must become aware of your thoughts and feelings throughout your day. Make note of your emotions and how you are feeling about specific situations in your life that you wish to change. Your emotions and feelings will give you the indication of your deep seated beliefs.

Can You Change Beliefs with Positive Affirmations?

The definition for affirm is to say that something is true in a confident way. Many people hope that by repeating positive affirmations to themselves in the mirror and reading them from post-it notes stuck around the house, they will make the changes that they so deeply desire occur.

Although daily positive affirmations might be helpful in making you feel good and raising your self esteem on a short term basis, they are usually much further away from your true belief system, so it is virtually impossible to make the permanent, positive changes needed in your beliefs. With each positive declaration that is different than your true belief, what you are trying to affirm is incompatible with a deeply held negative belief and your unconscious will dismiss this as just not true.

Positive Affirmations

Positive Affirmations

Positive affirmations target the conscious and subconscious levels of your mind, but not the unconscious mind where beliefs are forged. So, if you are using a positive affirmation to change a negative belief, the unconscious will fight for survival and what you really desire will most likely fail to manifest. However, there are many people and websites who disagree.

If you use positive affirmations, I suggest you use them for quite a long time as soon as you wake and right before you sleep as your mind is more open to suggestions at these times. and as often as possible throughout each and day.

Changing Beliefs with Hypnosis

What you focus on influences your beliefs which influences your habits which, in turn, influences your reality. Your reality is also subjective and influenced by what you choose to see in the world. If you were told to make a list daily of the things that made you unhappy, depressed and terrible for a year, at the end of the year, you would say the quality of your life is terrible because all you’ve been focusing on is the terrible, have begun to believe in the terrible and your reality will manifest in the same way.

Your beliefs and habits become so deeply ingrained, it seems almost impossible to change them, but have no doubt, they can change. Hypnosis can help you change your focus, your beliefs, your habits and your realities. Hypnosis can help you change your reality into any form you wish to see.

Hypnosis can put your mind into an altered state of consciousness. You’re not awake, nor are you asleep. The two parts of the mind that are active during hypnosis are the parts that control intense concentration (focus) and intense relaxation, the subconscious and unconscious.

Hypnosis

Hypnosis

Hypnosis helps your mind become open, suggestible and adjustable. Small simple changes made in your unconscious during hypnosis can begin to make very large changes in your reality. The quality of your life is determined by how well you control your own thoughts. Any negative belief or thought you have can be changed using the power of your mind through hypnosis.

If you are unable to find a local reputable hypnotist, recorded sessions are available online and can be just as helpful. I personally have used this organization for these and become an affiliate because of my belief in their ability to help in many ways. Dr. Steven G. Jones is a world renowned hypnotherapist with over 22 years of success.

Change Beliefs with Creative Visualization

“Creative visualization is the technique of using your imagination to create what you want and expect in your life. You are already using it every day, every minute in fact. It is your natural power of imagination, the basic creative energy of the universe, which you use constantly,  whether or not you are aware of it.” Shakti Gawain

Shakti Gawain wrote her first book on creative visualization back in 1978 entitled “Creative Visualization: Use the Power of Your Imagination to Create What You Want in Your Life.  “There have since been revised and updated versions of this inspirational best seller.

Creative visualization incorporates the use of the imagination with affirmations. As the imagination gives access to the unconscious, the affirmations have a much greater impact for change than using them alone.

Creative Visualization

Creative Visualization

As you become familiar with using creative visualization and begin to trust the results you are experiencing, you will be able to make it an integral part of your consciousness. It becomes a state of consciousness, a continuous awareness in which you are always aware that you are the creator of your life.

Lisa Nichols has an innovative and very effective program on creative visualization and is currently traveling around the world giving very successful and enlightening workshops and seminars. For those who cannot attend her workshops to learn the best ways of practicing creative visualization, she is now offering her Creative Visualization program online or with a cd set. You can find information on that here. I am so impressed with this program, I have become an affiliate for this program.

Change Your Beliefs to Create an Abundant Life

“Three things cannot be long hidden: the sun, the moon, and the truth.” ~Buddha

Your mind not only controls all of the systems of the body, it also controls your thoughts and feelings. These thoughts and feelings come from the beliefs you hold in your unconscious.

How Your Beliefs are Formed

Your beliefs are the truths you feel about yourself and your life, and began forming when you were an infant, watching the actions of those you held as authority figures and in whom you trusted and learned from – parents, teachers, religions, musicians, peers, advertisements, etc.

mind-beliefs

mind-beliefs

As a child, your mind was a sponge, absorbing all you saw and heard from authority figures. Although your parents may have done the best they could in raising you correctly, they could only pass on the beliefs they had as parents, many of them based on fear. “Don’t expect too much out of life, you’ll only be disappointed”, “Rich people are greedy and selfish”, “You have to work hard all your life if you want to save/earn/have money”, “Money is at the root of all evil”, “You must be beautiful to be popular”.

For those children whose parents did not try to do their best, or thought negative reinforcement would help them in the world, beliefs were even rougher… “You’re not good enough”, “You’ll never amount to anything”, “You’ll always be (fill in the negative word)”.

As your unconscious mind absorbed the lessons from the words and actions of these authority figures, your brain forged neural pathways in which these beliefs were then held.

Freud said, “We learn as children how we react emotionally and this is carried into adulthood.

The Mind

mind

mind

There are three parts of the mind, the conscious, the subconscious and the unconscious.

Conscious mind – This is the part of your mind that is aware of what is currently happening around and to you, along with some specific mental functions.

Subconscious mind – Also called the pre-conscious mind. This holds the available memories and information you can become aware of once your direct your attention to it, i.e., how to get home from where you are, phone numbers you frequently use.

Unconscious mind – This consists of the primitive, instinctual wishes as well as the information that we cannot access. During our childhood, we acquired countless memories and experiences that formed our beliefs and who we are today. However, we cannot recall most of those memories.

Your Beliefs Affect Your Abundance

“Self-sabotage is when we say we want something and then go about making sure it doesn’t happen.”
– Alyce P. Cornyn-Selby

Every decision you make in your conscious mind has already been affected by your unconscious. If you have self-limiting beliefs regarding a decision, it matters not what you decide, the outcome will not have the positive affect you may desire. Your repressed, unconscious mind will do anything to give you exactly the experience of your limiting belief!

Limiting belief

Limiting belief

If you have negative beliefs about money, your life experiences will match those beliefs. If your beliefs tell you that you do not deserve a happy, loving relationship, you’ll be more prone to find partners with whom you cannot find happiness. If you want a healthy body and lifestyle, but your limiting beliefs are that you are sickly, that is the experience of life you will most likely have.

Your unconscious will protect, censor and dictate your life, so that it becomes a perfect match to your internal, true beliefs and sabotage your desires and actions toward abundance.

Through your actions or behavior, you make things worse instead of better. Instead of doing, being or having the best, you eventually find yourself settling for less. It is certainly not desirable if you are hoping to live an abundant life. If your belief is that you are you a “victim of circumstance”, that is how you will live out your life and never become a master of your destiny.

You are the creator of your life and are orchestrating everything that happens to you by your core beliefs and ideas about life.  Change your beliefs and expectations, you will change your life.

My next post will be on ways to permanently change your self-limiting beliefs. Do you have ideas and suggestions on how to do that?

Thank you for reading!  Until next time…To your abundance!

Procrastination and Fear When Writing of Success as an Abundant Woman

“You cannot escape the responsibility of tomorrow by evading it today.” – Abraham Lincoln

I would like to say that I used to be, but know I still feel at times I am, the Queen of Procrastination when writing for success, and I can’t say I’ve completely hung up the crown quite yet.

What is Procrastination?

Procrastination is the practice of carrying out less urgent tasks in preference to more urgent ones, or doing more pleasurable things in place of less pleasurable ones, and thus putting off impending tasks to a later time, sometimes to the “last minute” before a deadline. Oh man, am I good at that!

Why Do People Procrastinate?

Why do people procrastinate? Laziness is not the main reason people procrastinate. I believe in my case, with this blog, it all has to do with self confidence. For many years, I was put down and ridiculed because of my size and my non-mainstream thoughts, feelings and beliefs.

Now or Later

Now or Later

As I grew older, I was told by teachers and professors that I was creative with some unique ideas and an ability to write with flair. Somehow the latter seemed to go in one ear and out the other. I suppose that is because the ridicule came first and lasted the longest, having lived with it for many years.

So the procrastination concerning writing is not because I do not enjoy writing and sharing thoughts and beliefs, but because of feeling the old fears of ridicule, rejection and failure.

Fears of Ridicule and Rejection

The most common fears that we experience, which often sabotage all hope for success, are the fears of ridicule, rejection and failure. People fear ridicule, rejection and criticism of any kind. These fears can hold us back throughout our lives if we let them.

What Do You Do To Deal With Procrastination?

What Shonda Rhimes has said, with a few extra thoughts of my own interspersed…..Open your eyes, take a good look around you. Look at your life. How’s the view? Do you like what you see? Have you been missing out on everything in your life? Do you keep putting off what you could accomplish and share with the world?

procrastinating cat

procrastinating cat

Think back to when you were little. Are you living the life you pictured for yourself, or are you thinking of something even bigger? Do you wish it was something bigger? If it’s not working, quit whining to yourself about what it could be. Shut up and fix it! Open up your heart and mind, share it with the world! What you have to say is important. There is nothing more important for you than to become really good at the art and science of expressing yourself in words to other people. Make a difference!

The Law of Reversibility says that “if you feel a certain way, you will act in a manner consistent with that feeling.” However, if you act in a way that is consistent with that feeling, even if you don’t feel it, the Law of Reversibility will create the feeling that is consistent with your actions.
In the social sciences it’s said that it takes approximately 21 days to form a new habit. That’s true for the most part, especially if you are trying to create that habit through a rigid structure of logical self discipline. There are other ways which utilize the power of the subconscious so it starts working for you and your goals, which in my case is confidence and courage.

Creative Visualization To See Yourself as Unafraid

Creative visualization is a technique in which you use your imagination to create what you want in your life. With creative visualization, you use your imagination to create a clear image, idea, or feeling of what it is you wish to manifest. You continue to focus on the image, idea or feeling regularly, giving it positive energy until it becomes objective reality … in other words, until you actually achieve what you have been imagining. By visualizing yourself acting, speaking and writing with confidence and competence in an area where you are fearful, your visual image will eventually be accepted by your subconscious mind. The way you see yourself and think about yourself, is eventually altered by visualizing these positive mental pictures.

Hypnotism for Dealing with Fear & Procrastination

Hypnosis is used to utilize a person’s subconscious to enable them to create new habits or behaviors and change their perspective on life. If you internalize a new view of yourself, you automatically change your behavior to line up with this new perspective.

How you view yourself is largely an automatic process controlled by the subconscious. If you can change that, then creating new habits becomes much easier for you.

Your conscious mind doesn’t like change and will want to talk you out of changing. If you can get those suggestions into your subconscious mind without the judgements of the conscious mind, you can change from being a procrastinator to being a successful achiever.

Hypnosis is stronger than willpower because it put the suggestions straight into your subconscious. By the time your conscious mind is aware of the suggestions, they will have been accepted by your subconscious already, so the judgmental self talk by the conscious mind will not be an issue.

Hypnosis is an effective and lasting way to overcome procrastination. If you are unable to go to a hypnotist, Dr. Steven G. Jones has some excellent audios for self hypnosis. His self hypnosis audio to alleviate procrastination can be found here.

Studies and Research on the Mind-Body Connection for Healing

Hippocrates once wrote, “The natural healing force within each one of us is the greatest force in getting well.”

Hippocrates

Hippocrates

The ancient Greeks used the mind-body connection for healing on a regular basis as a normal way of healing, and it was considered an important aspect in the health of an individual. This was put to the wayside when modern medicine made its appearance.

This ideal has just recently started to be taken seriously again, and is being proven in studies and research. The following visualization therapy information was supplied by The Silva Life System of which I am an affiliate because of their outstanding research, programs and reputation.

The Visualization Therapy

There was a 61 year old man diagnosed with a terminal case of throat cancer with his weight dropping to under 100 lbs. He could hardly swallow or breathe. His survival rate was at 5%. Doctors didn’t want to put him on radiation therapy as they wondered if he could survive the treatment.

visualization

visualization

After giving considerable consideration, the doctors decided to try the radiation therapy. Dr. O. Carl Simmonton, Medical Director of the Cancer Counseling and Research Center in Dallas, Tx was asked to be involved in the patient’s treatment.

Dr. Simonton told the patient he had the ability to control the progress of his disease and gave him a few relaxation and creative visualization techniques.

The patient was to visualize:

  • The radiation was pinpoints of energy bombarding the cancer cells
  • The cancer cells would be unable to repair the damage they suffered
  • His white blood cells would overcome the cancerous cells
  • The cancer cells would flush out of his body through his kidneys and liver

Results: The Patient experienced almost no ill side effects from the treatment. He regained his weight and the cancer was gone.

The Simonton Center (www.simontoncenter,com) has helped thousands of cancer patients benefit from imagery therapy. Dr. Simonton’s wife said “Probably the single most important tool we have is the mental imagery technique developed by the Silva Life System”.

The Placebo and Psychosomatic Effects

The placebo effect has been known about for years. Doctors know a patient can manifest self-healing by simply believing they will be healed. A patient would take a sugar pill thinking it would cure their ills, and it would. We’ve all heard about it. It also goes with knowing about ills and diseases, and contracting them as I wrote about in my last post.

It is the beliefs you have about something that makes it harmful or not. If you believe it is harmful, it will tend to be true. There was a study using 40 subjects. They were all given a saline solution to inhale and were told it was allergenic.

19 of the 40 developed asthmatic symptoms, 12 developed bronchial spasms which completely disappeared minutes after being given another saline solution which they were told was medicine that would alleviate their symptoms.

Placebo

Placebo

All modern drugs today are tested against a placebo before being released to the public and many former medications have been taken off the market when it was found the healing properties were only due to the placebo effect.

I remember a great aunt who always seemed to get her illness and health issues based on what she heard about from friends and family. We found it amusing and thought she was just imagining she had these illnesses, when in fact she actually did have some of them.

Placebo Effect with Surgery

In 1994, Dr. J Bruce Moseley had 10 patients scheduled for an operation to relieve arthritic pain in their knees. Two of the patients underwent arthroscopic surgery, scraping and rinsing of the knee joint, three had rinsing alone, five had no procedure done at all with just a cut on the knee to give them the impression they had gone through the surgery.

Six months after the surgery, all the patients reported a large decrease in the pain in their knees without the five without the surgery knowing they had not had it performed on them.

Hypnosis and Mind-Body Interaction

Did you know a good hypnotist can actually get a person to tan their skin? I’m sure you’ve all heard of the hypnotist that told someone that they were holding a red hot item and a blister forms on their skin. In a study, one in five people developed a blister from touching the item.

Hypnosis is being used in place of anesthesia in surgery. It is also used to help with skin conditions, bronchial conditions, pain management, weightloss, illness and disease. Kristen Prevallet states on her website http://www.mindbodystudies.com, “Hypnosis is grounded in the belief that the most successful healing and the most dramatic changes happen when you become your own health advocate.”

My Testimonial

me

me

Six years ago, I was diagnosed with Trochanteric Bursitis in the right hip, which caused severe pain to radiate down my thigh. For the next six years, I had the coritsone shots, anti-inflammatory medications and an experimental plasma shot, none of which helped. The Orthopedic Surgeon said the next step would be surgery. After having had surgery on my shoulder and elbow, it was the last thing I wanted.

Finally, with the use of hypnosis tapes, I was able to use the mind-body connection to heal the bursitis and have had no pain in my hip and thigh for the past 4 months. I have also been able to alleviate all symptoms of diabetes and fibromyalgia.

I use the tapes recorded by Dr. Steven G. Jones, who is an internationally known hypnotherapist of the highest calibre. I was so impressed with the results I have seen that I am now an affiliate of his. You can find an extraordinary list of hypnosis tapes at http://betterlivingwithhypnosis.com covering all aspects of life and health.

This is mind-body healing, and everybody has the ability to heal themselves in order to live an abundant life that everyone deserves.

Miracle or Mind-Body Healing of a Truly Abundant Woman?

Anita Moorjani

Anita Moorjani

I recently had the opportunity to read a book written by a truly abundant and inspirational woman. Her name is Anita Moorjani and the book is called “Dying To Be Me”. Click HERE to read my review of the book. Although I knew of mind-body healing and had even experienced it myself to a degree,  Anita’s story was one of absolute inspiration. I would like to share an abbreviated version of her life.

Anita’s Young Life

Anita was born to Indian parents in Singapore. Her paternal grandfather was a textile merchant, and her father traveled the world. When he was finally able to settle down, Anita was 2 years old, and he chose to move to Hong Kong. Because of the vast diversity of the population there, she learned to speak English, Sindhi and Cantonese.

hindu girl

hindu girl

Growing up in Hong Kong, Anita was immersed in 3 different cultures. Since Hong Kong was a British colony, she was exposed to the English way of life at the British Catholic schools she and her brother, Anoop, attended. At the same time, the majority of the population, along with the housekeeper, Ah Fong, was Cantonese and practiced Buddhism and Taoism. And, as I said she was born to Indian parents.

Since she spent much time with Ah Fong after school, shopping and visiting Ah Fongs parents and child, she was very familiar with their way of life and traditions. And, although Anita and her brother, Anoop, went to British Catholic schools in the majority Buddhist Hong Kong, the family practiced the traditional Hindu religion.

Needless to say, being taught by Catholic Nuns in religious studies and then practicing the Hindu traditions brought quite a bit of confusion and angst into Anita’s life. Catholic Nuns were telling her if she didn’t get baptized, she wouldn’t go to heaven. Her mother’s attempts to comfort her on the different ways religions followed different paths to heaven or enlightenment, only relieved the angst she felt for a short time.

Anita’s Teen and Young Adult Years

As Anita grew, continuing to practice the Hindu religion and traditions, she began to question her path. She had no desire to follow her parents’ guidance and agree to an arranged marriage. She wanted to continue her education and go on to college. Her father wanted her to get married and become the traditional, subservient wife of a man in a respectable Hindu family. She felt at odds and began thinking she was flawed in some way because she wouldn’t settle for what her parents wanted for her.

During this time in her life, she met the man she was to marry, Danny Moorjani. She had her misgivings when they first started dating as he was Sindhi. She was sure he was looking for the perfect, submissive woman to be his wife. As they grew closer, though, she found he also questioned and even rejected a lot of the Hindu traditions when it came to women and marriage, and embraced the modernized life in which his wife could pursue her dreams and be a contributing member of society with her work.

In January of 1995, Danny proposed to Anita. Two months later, Anita’s father passed away in his sleep and the family took him to his hometown in India for the funeral. Of course, she was devastated thinking how much she had disappointed him when he was alive.

On December 6, 1995, Anita and Danny were married in a traditional Indian ceremony with festivities that lasted almost a week. She was so happy, thinking they were going to live happily ever after…..

Not long after the wedding, Anita’s brother left for India to start a business there and took their mother with him. For the first time, Anita was living in a different country than the rest of her family, which devastated her. Also, during this time, those in her culture were constantly reminding her she should be having children as it was expected right after marriage. This, of course, she did not want, and again felt inadequate in the eyes of the people of her culture.

Fear and Confirmation of Disease

In 2001, her best friend, Soni, was diagnosed with cancer. A few months later, they found out Danny’s sister’s husband had an aggressive form of cancer. The news of these two having cancer instilled a deep fear in her as they were very close to her age. She soon began to fear being around anything that might cause cancer. As this fear progressed, she began to fear life itself.

lymphoma

lymphoma

In April, 2002, Anita found a lump in her right shoulder. She went in for tests and was told she had lymphoma, and terror took over from there. She refused chemotherapy because she saw how it ravaged her friends’ bodies.

Disease and Death of Loved Ones

It wasn’t long after that, Anita lost her best friend to cancer, and shortly later, her brother-in-law. She ran through the gamut of emotions, every day, day and night – anger, fear, dread, frustration, desperation.

Searching for a Healing Venue

She was seeing several specialists, along with Eastern healers. She was trying hypnotherapy, meditation, prayers, mantras and Chinese herbal remedies to no avail. She continued tp deteriorate. She traveled to India for Ayurvedic treatment, and, for awhile, felt much better. But as soon as she returned and listened to the skepticism of her friends regarding her treatments, the cancer came back with a vengeance.

She became stressed about food, one healing modality stated meat was bad, another stated meat was good, dairy was bad. Yet another stated vegetables were wrong. She worried about karma and what she must have done to deserve what was happening. She lived in a constant state of fear and continued to deteriorate in unbelievable pain.

Near Death Experience

NDE

NDE

On the morning of February 2, 2006, Anita was rushed to the hospital close to death and fell into a coma. Doctors and nurses were rushing around trying to keep her from dying. The Oncologist had already told Danny though, that although her heart may be beating, she was gone.

It was at this time, Anita realized she was fully conscious and aware of what was going on around her, and even down the hall where one of the doctors was talking to Danny. All the pain she had endured was gone. She realized she was witnessing this from outside her physical body.

Her near death experience is more than I can describe here, unless I want to write a book myself. When she returned from this and woke from her coma, her cancer went into remission and soon disappeared. She has now written a book of her experience and is speaking at conferences, lectures and meetings about her experience.

Dying To Be Me

Dying To Be Me

Anita Moorjani’s experience is a fantastic example of mind-body, maybe soul-body healing. After reading of her experience, I have no doubt we can all experience healing of illness and disease when we have a positive mind and heart and lose fear. Her book goes into so much better detail than I can give here in this short post.  You will find my book review posted under Book and Movie Reviews.

Mind-Body Healing and Your Abundant Health

What is Abundant Health?

Having abundant health means having health in great quantity or, being very healthy. Is that not what we all want for ourselves? I am sure there are those that don’t, and I believe it is caused by a craving for attention, and subconsciously believing illness and disease are the only way to get this attention.

The next few blogs will be dedicated to mind-body healing. There is just too much information and too many cases to fit on one!

I believe we all can positively affect our health if we can place our focus on our thoughts, feelings and attitudes. The mind-body connection is so much stronger than most will believe. Although I am not the picture of health YET, I do believe my thoughts, feelings and attitudes have affected my health, first negatively, and then positively. This is my story.

Psychosomatic Illness

While growing up, I had a great-aunt who was constantly getting ill, claiming health issues of one sort or another. The adults would always talk about how she would seem to contract almost anything a friend, or friend’s friend or just about anyone she heard/read about had contracted.

They would shake their head and talk about her psychosomatic illnesses. Today, through studies, many scientists and doctors are finding that a lot of illnesses and diseases are psychosomatic. A psychosomatic disorder is a disease which involves both mind and body (http://www.patient.co.uk/health/psychosomatic-disorders).

I was always told I was so much like my mother. I was thrilled with this as I adored her and hoped to be just like she was when I grew up.

And, as I grew up, I watched her suffer through one health crisis after another. She was mentally strong in ways; but in others, not so much. She carried so much inner turmoil and emotional burden on her shoulders, unable to detach her feeling and emotions from what an alcoholic husband, unloving and judgmental mother-in-law and inconsiderate, selfish children put on her.

As an Adult

From my mid 20’s, I didn’t take care of myself, ate all the wrong foods, drank too much, smoked like a chimney, and, until my mid 30’s took more than my fair share of recreational drugs. As I reached my 40’s, I was a very good candidate for an early death with illness and disease accompanying me all the way.

Late 40's

Late 40’s

I began to have one health issue after another into my mid 50’s. These health issues didn’t mimic those of my mother though. While her illnesses were internalized, my mind chose a whole new route. Instead of internal organs, most of mine were muscular-skeletal with a few odd glandular issues here and there. The list just kept growing and growing, and I was approved for disability as of May, 2010 at the ripe old age of 54.

The “AHA” Moment

With all of the self-help and spiritual books I’d read, I finally stumbled upon information regarding the mind-body connection. I was amazed, when I thought back on my mom’s life and health issues, how much her mental and emotional condition could have, and did, affect the health of her body.

I then took a long hard look at my own emotional and mental state, along with my physical health. I could see the correlation between the most stressful and painful times of my life and the onslaught of illness and disease. By then, I had been diagnosed with multiple illnesses, diseases and syndromes. I was taking 11-15 medications, depending on what was going on with my body.

Today

Today

So, through meditation, hypnosis and creative visualization, I eventually learned to pay better attention to my thoughts, feelings and emotions. I have been able to decrease my medications down to 2-3 and plan on being dependent on none by summer of 2015. I feel better than I have in years, have more energy and sleep through the night.

To many, this may not seem like much; but, it wasn’t long ago I didn’t believe I would make it to my 65th birthday.  Today, I’m looking forward to abundant health for the rest of my long life.  I believe my before and after pictures tell the story

Please Read On…

The next 2 or 3 posts will be dedicated to sharing information of studies regarding mind-body interaction and stories of others who had drastic improvements in their health through changing the health of their thoughts and feelings. Some would call a couple of these miraculous.

Have you or anyone you know experienced amazing improvements in health without the use of surgery or medications? I would love to hear from you.

To Your Abundance,
Margot

Protection From Negativity For An Intuitive Abundant Woman

Many experts claim that intuitive people are also psychic, to a degree – using that 6th sense to know things or make decisions. As such, many intuitive people can also be susceptible to energies from other sources, such as other people.

A NEGATIVE ENERGY ENDURED

I have had an issue for years when it came to being affected by and absorbing the energies of other people. In fact, the worst case for me was a very close relative. It took me years to understand why, after spending time in his presence, I would become upset, confused, frustrated and even negative myself. It would take a very long time for me to return to my normal, more positive self.

Negative Energy

Negative Energy

After our last confrontation, in which he treated me worse than his poor dog he kept chained to a tree and would not explain his reason, I realized I needed to stay away from him, but didn’t really understand why. I just knew I felt better when I wasn’t around him. It took me quite awhile to also realize I needed to forgive him for his extremely negative actions, as my anger and frustration were eating away at my soul. I was losing any spiritual abundance I had. It was affecting my meditations, peaceful mind and heart, and even other relationships.

REALIZING THE PROBLEM & FINDING SOLUTIONS

It wasn’t until just a few months back, after doing research on intuitives, psychics, empaths and sensitives, that I was able to realize what the real issue was that was happening. I was absorbing his negative energy and it was severely affecting me. Then my real research began on how to protect myself from these energies, because they could also affect me from a distance.

Do you:

  • sometimes walk into a room and feel a bad “vibe” or feel exhausted in a crowd?
  • feel easily hurt at times?
  • get told by people that you’re too sensitive?
  • avoid conscious recognition of the emotional basis of an act or feeling by substituting a superficially plausible explanation?
  • sense negative emotions evoked by other people and sometimes don’t know if it’s coming from them or you?
  • get nervous and agitated around hyperactive people?
  • need to be alone to re-energize?
  • feel, at times, as if you’ve lost your own identity or are suffocating in an intimate relationship?
  • listen well to others and give generously of yourself?

If so, in all likelihood, you are an intuitive, empath, sensitive or psychic, and need to know how to protect yourself in order to continue your positive journey toward a life as an abundant woman.

TIPS AND SUGGESTIONS

Here are a few tips, which I have found helpful, on how to protect yourself from negativity.

Keep at least 20 to 30 feet away from any negative person, called an “emotional vampire” by Dr. Judith Orloff. (Judith Orloff, MD, Are you an empath?, http://www.huffingtonpost.com/judith-orloff-md/are-you-an-emotional-empa_b_697483.html). Don’t be concerned if you feel you may be offending someone. This is for your emotional and psychic protection. Dr. Judith Orloff has some amazing programs, books and online courses on intuition, positive energy and empowerment!Positive Energy & Emotional Freedom

Clean negativity from you. Brush your head, arms and body with your hands as if wiping off dirt or dust. Put your hands on your solar plexus (your emotional center). Imagine a clean white light emanating from your hands into your solar plexus to clean out any negativity that may have found its way in.

Envelope yourself in a protective shield when around suspect people. Visualize your body being enveloped in a white light that blocks the negativity but allows positive energy to be absorbed.

Center yourself with deep breaths. As you breathe in, feel positive, calming energy entering into your lungs. As you breathe out, see the negative energy leaving your body as a dark mist or fog.

Manage your emotions. Have a safe, private and natural space in your home where you can go for meditation and centering to rejuvenate, especially if there are family members in the home whose emotions you have been absorbing.

Spend time with positive people. Encourage and cultivate friendships with people who have positive energies. Spending time with these people can help you strengthen your own positive energies, which will help negate any negative energies you find yourself absorbing.

These exercises are not something that will alleviate your issues with negative energy right away. They must be practiced on a regular basis for you to strengthen your own energies and protection.

So, as they say, practice makes perfect. Be sure to check out Dr. Judith Orloff’s programs, books and online courses. They are fascinating, uplifting and so very helpful! I wish you the best in your endeavors and would love to hear from you with any other tips or helpful practices you use to keep your energies positive and your soul happy!

How to Access Your Intuition as An Abundant Woman

In my previous post, I talked about intuition, what it is and the importance of paying attention to it. Today, I’d like to delve further into its application, importance and how to readily access your intuition.

Ignoring Your Intuition

As we were all raised to use our logical mind to make decision in all facets of our lives, we began to ignore our intuition just as we began reaching the times in our lives when we needed it the most – making life decisions.

Your intuition is working more often than you realize. Having ignored our natural intuition for so long, many of us now find it difficult to access or even recognize or be aware of it.

Awareness

Awareness

We all were born with some amount of intuition. Abundant intuition is either innate or can be developed. For those of us needing assistance accessing our intuition, with it having been buried under logic, preconceptions and conscious beliefs for so long, we can learn again how to recognize and use it.

The Subconscious

The subconscious handles three main aspects of your life:

1. It controls all automatic bodily functions – heart, breathing, digestion and so many more than I am able to list. You get the idea, I’m sure.

2. All thoughts and beliefs accepted by the subconscious issue a vibration which attracts people and situations that vibrate at the same frequency.

3. Being a part of life and all reality, it has access to information not readily available to your conscious mind, and this is where intuition comes in.

Intuition, being a function of the subconscious mind, works for everyone, and is accessible by everyone.

Three Ways to Access Your Intuition

Some of the ways to access your intuition are:

Meditation:

Engaging in contemplation, thought, musing, reflection, focus and concentration on a repetitive act such as breathing or using a mantra (a word or sound repeated). By using the typical meditation and going within, you can soon find this inner self – the subconscious that, if listened to, will bring you to the awareness you are not limited to the aspects of your conscious mind, and the eternal senses, and can access all the information within your subconscious.

Card Exercise:

1. Pull the jokers out of a deck of cards and shuffle
2. Flip through them very quickly, looking at the faces
3. Lay them out, face down, in rows of 13
4. Think of one of the cards, your subconscious should know its location
5. After thinking of the card for a few seconds, clear your mind
6. Turn over a card which you feel drawn to
7. If it is the card you were thinking of, your intuition is strong. If it isn’t, don’t worry. Put it back and try for another card.
8. Record your results.

How many attempts did it take to find the card? Do this exercise 5-10 minutes/day. You will soon see your ability to pick the correct card happen faster, and as with anything, practice makes perfect…or as close as possible.

The Silva Intuition System 3-2-1 Intuitive Meditation:

1. After getting comfortable and closing eyes, take a deep breath and as you exhale, think and envision the number 3, a few times. As you do this, relax each part of your head, scalp, forehead, face (a light smile always relaxes your face), jaw and chin, your throat (internally and externally), relax your chest (internally and externally), shoulders, arms, hands and fingers. Relax your abdomen (internally and externally). Relax your hips, thighs, knees, calves, feet and toes. You should be at a deeper level of relaxation at this point.

2. The next level, level 2 is for mental relaxation – take a deep breath and as you exhale, think and envision the number 2, a few times. This level is a mental relaxation level where noises do not distract you. Instead, noises help you to relax deeply more and morel To improve relaxation at level 2, practice visualizing tranquil and passive scenes.

3. The last level, level 1 – take another deep breath and as you exhale, think and envision the number 1, 3 times. Level 1 is a plane level to be used for any purpose you desire. This is your starting point.

4. From here, count slowly from 10 to 1 and as you descend, feel yourself entering a deeper, healthier level of mind.

5. Imagine descending as if in an elevator from the 10th to the 1st floor. Allow the feeling of relaxation from the top of your body down to your toes.

The purpose of this exercise is to enhance your intuition. You can find the rest if this excellent meditation method at The Silva Intuition System.

Best wishes for your most relaxing intuition meditation. After practicing this meditation, I hope you will get back with me and let me know how much it helped you achieve a better state of intuition.

Using Intuition On Your Journey Toward An Abundant Life

Intuition, the ability to acquire knowledge without the use of reason, comes from the Latin verb intueri, which means to look inside or to contemplate. Intuition is believed to be a kind of inner perception, sometimes regarded as true understanding. It provides views, judgments or beliefs that we cannot verify in every case based on observation or experience, or rationally justify.

What Your Spirit Knows

Your spirit knows what’s right for you, what directions you need to take for your highest good. Although your intellectual mind is a great tool, when it comes to the key decisions of your life, it pales in comparison to the wisdom of your intuition.

Einstein intuition

Your intuition is constantly feeding you information about people or situations, or providing answers to the questions you are asking. Have you ever had a “gut” feeling and not listened, and later wished that you had? Intuitive information comes to us generally as a feeling rather than logical thought when the chatter in our minds has quieted. All you need to do is tap into it. It isn’t as difficult as you may think, whether you believe yourself to be intuitive or not.

Learn To Tap Into Your Powerful Intuition

Imagine being so powerfully intuitive that you’ll never second-guess yourself ever again. Imagine how that affects your career – when you’re always making the right business decisions, and choosing the most trustworthy partners. Imagine being able to tune in to exactly what your partner is feeling, and how that brings the two of you even closer. Imagine being able to rely on a strong “inner voice” that gives you confident ideas and answers to help you overcome any challenge.

All of this isn’t just reserved for the lucky few who were blessed with good fortune.  The Silva Intuition System helps to discover the power of intuition and unleash an entirely new realm of possibilities for career, relationships and health.

Over 6 million graduates, including scientists, doctors, artists and entrepreneurs have used The Silva Method to experience the full extent of their intuitive senses and live a life beyond ordinary.

An Abundant Woman’s Tale – You CAN Create Abundance!

This is a true story of one woman’s experience, I’ll call her Milly, on attracting and manifesting abundance into her family’s life. I still get a huge smile on my face when I think of how it all came about.

Milly has been involved in spirituality and the Law of Attraction since quite awhile before the hit movie “The Secret” was released. She just didn’t understand how it all fit together, or whether it even did fit.

The Secret

The Secret

It was after she watched the movie, along with quite a few videos recorded shortly after the movie, and read a few books, both new and old, on the subject; that she finally felt she had a grasp on how the Law of Attraction worked. She began to notice incidences and coincidences around her that were obvious examples of the Law of Attraction at work.

Although she knew it worked, she couldn’t seem to figure out what she was or wasn’t doing that kept her wishes and intentions from manifesting. She made a vision board as advised in the movie, along with writing her wishes and intentions, visualizing them and then letting them go so as not to become attached to them.  She worked hard to overcome limiting beliefs, became and stayed grateful for what she had, opened herself to receiving graciously…and still nothing.

Learn More and Apply

She took classes and courses, read books and watched videos on the Law of Attraction, hypnotism, meditation, visualization, the power of prayer and life coaching. As time went on, the literature, videos and training on these aspects became more refined and specialized.

Milly finally began to manifest small things into her life….a parking space close to the door of the store, a specific hotel room when going on vacation, a sale on a specific item for which she wouldn’t pay full retail. She came across a book last November, “E-Squared: Nine Do-It-Yourself Energy Experiments That Prove Your Thoughts Create Your Reality” by Pam Grout. She didn’t start reading it until 3 0r 4 months after the holidays.

The book consisted of 9 different experiments to try for noticing, attracting and manifesting people, items, events and money. They started out small and became larger and more complex as the experiments progressed. She went through some the experiments, and actually had success with each experiment performed. After about 4, she decided she was going to try to manifest some money herself.

Writing Your Intention

She sat down and wrote out what she wanted to attract     and manifest, “I am so happy and grateful that we have an additional $x,000 income this year.” As she had been working on a website, wanting to earn some extra money for her family by helping others, which was her passion; she hoped that she would be earning that amount of money by the end of 12 months.

Write intention

Write intention

After writing down her affirmation, she let it go, keeping no attachment to it, as she had learned when taking the courses on the Law of Attraction. And so, a few months passed with nothing really happening on her website. She continued working on it, taking more courses and began building her clientele, with more money going out than coming in at that point.

While all this was going on with her courses and website, things were happening at her husband’s company. I’ll call him Bob. The management had decided to create a new position and asked Bob if he would be interested in a promotion into this position. Although he was the person who told them they really needed to create this position, he had also initially told them he wasn’t interested, thinking he would be getting more headaches than he already had.

From Whence it Comes

Well, the company created the position and asked Bob to apply for it; which, after some deep thought and soul searching, he did. When they offered him the job, they told him he would be getting a raise of $x,000, which was the exact amount she had written in her manifestation intention.

Money

Money

What I find funny is it took a month before Milly realized Bob’s raise was the same amount she had written. On the day she finally realized what had happened, she was watching a short video on the Law of Attraction and manifesting. She was almost finished with the video when she finally realized the manifestation intention she had written a few months before had happened!

In case you haven’t figured it out yet, you might find it funny to know that my husband and I are Bob and Milly. And that is how I KNOW beyond a shadow of a doubt that you CAN attract and create abundance!
